Transit-Oriented Development in Saudi Arabia: Riyadh as a Case Study

Transit-oriented development (TOD) in Saudi Arabia is becoming a significant priority for the government and developers to create sustainable quality living environment. TOD an integrated transport urban planning method that aims reduce car use sprawl, increase of public transport, enhance mobility. To meet global goals as per Paris Accord, Arabia’s policymakers must prioritize integration planning. This study was carried out with main aim identifying environmental, social, economic benefits implementing Riyadh, Arabia. A mixed-study research used, data were collected using questionnaire survey semi-structured interviews. The quantitative analyzed SPSS version 21, qualitative NVivo software. findings this show Riyadh City would positively impact economic, social aspects. travel time, allow its people have active lifestyle, congestion. help mental health disorders improve physical activity. environment assist reducing greenhouse gases. Overall, results provide reliable perspective on TOD. Most participants assumed implementation automobile mobility, more employment opportunities, impacting economy City.
